"I was very happy to hear that The Olympia Restaurant had reopened after being demolished by Hurricane Ian and rumors that they may never be coming back. Well they're back with bells on! They reopened 2 months ago. So I was so happy to be driving down the Tamiami Trail and noticed to my delight that the lights were on! I parked my car and walked into the new remodeled restaurant all brought up to date, clean and spiffy! Ian take that and shove it, lolI was seated at my table and ordered a nice Hot cup of Tea and Anna (a very nice Greek woman )was my waitress and didn't forget my water. made me happy. I ended up adding sugar to my water instead of my tea cup and Anna got me a new one as we laughed on getting older. Was nice to have a waitress who was happy to assist you instead of looking at you as if you had two heads. I was so excited about them being open that I asked Anna what was some of her favorites. I mentioned the fried fish but my eye caught the Salmon Piccata and she agreed that was one of her favorites so I went on faith and ordered that and a salad . I am a very good cook myself and love and cook various cuisine. I was NOT disappointed. The salad was large and lovely with honey mustard. Delish , it was served with warm bread with the salad . When my dinner came out, I was just finishing my salad, perfect timing! Bonus! The plate was served hot and was pleasing to the eye and a nice clean presentation. The Salmon, a nice serving , not too big and not to small, the Angel hair Pasta I chose as one of my sides, is a rare choice for me because not many chefs cook it well it's usually overcooked and clumpy. I took a bite of that Salmon perfectly cooked , the flavor as it should be, bursting with flavor, covered in wine ,lemon, garlic sause with a wonderful array of capers , not skimped on . But masterfully done Bravo Antonio, my compliments Sir to this Chef! So if you're looking for great Greek food and some Italian plates. You must try Olympias! She's been in business for quite awhile and pssst the tzatziki sause is the real thing. Not some fake formula of ranch dressing with cucumbers I have seen in some wannabe restaurants. So Dear readers, good ambiance ( good soft Greek music) good food and great service. You can never go wrong and I certainly appreciated thatPS I took a Gyro home and a nice piece of Baklava for my lunch the next day so I spent more than my normal and happily so."

"My wife and I decided to try the newly opened Olympia Restaurant located at 3245 Tamiami Trl, Port Charlotte. Right after Olean Blvd heading South and Tamiami. We had gone to the restaurant before Ian and were anxiously waiting for the reopening to happen. The first thing you will notice right away is that everything is bright and new. It is updated in a good way and you will feel right at home when you get seated. Our server was Leslie and it was her first night there. She had a ton of experience and you could tell she was a professional at what she did. She was a bit unfamiliar with the menu, which was OK, because so were we. I ordered the Greek Combo Platter and my wife ordered Spaghetti and meatballs. The food came out hot and tasty. We enjoyed our meal and we realize this is not the same Olympia that was there before. It certainly has a different ambiance and the menu is different. However, I feel that it has great potential. When we went, they just opened a couple of days before and they are working out the kinks and finding their balance. we will be back. The food is good and it will only get better and once people realize that it is open and actually better than before, they will be back. We will wait a month or so and try it again. I can't wait to see how they improve. You should give them a try! They could use the encouragement and we could use another great restaurant in Port Charlotte!"

"I ordered the Greek salad and baked lamb shank with a side of mixed veggies and mashed potato. Greek salad It is the best part of the menu. Baked lamb shank the meat falls off the bone. Taste is nothing special to note Mashed potato is okay. Mixed Veggies this is a mixture of corn, string beans and carrots. This honestly looks and taste like canned veggies. The place is not very great and comfortable. AC is not working very well and I feel like the place needs a good cleaning."

"My salmon was delish!!! More importantly though, the staff were outstanding. We brought our 1 and 3 year old here and they were so amazingly accommodating. The food came quickly and was so diverse! Definitely worth checking out!!!"
